Connecting multiple solar panels.
How do you connect 2 solar panels.
There are 3 ways to connect solar panels.
As clearly visible in the picture it will be enough to wire the positive pole of one panel to the positive pole of the other one and then wire the negative pole of one panel to the negative pole of the other one.
When wiring two panels in series the voltage and wattage double.
Connecting two solar panels in parallel.
Parallel series and a combination of parallel and series.
If we have two solar panels with same voltage and power the connection will be very simple.
If both panels are rated at the same maximum voltage then you ll get maximum output.
As clearly visible in the picture it is sufficient to wire the positive pole of one panel to the negative pole of the other and at the output we will find a doubling of the voltage.
Considering the example in the figure two 5a 12v panels wired in series produce a voltage of 24v and a current of 5a.
If you are wanting a series connection instead simply connect the positive lead on your solar panel to the negative on your solar panel and the negative lead to the positive on your second solar panel.
Connect the negatives to the negatives and positives to the positives.
Then they are connected to the charge controller or to the inverter of the solar system.
Parallel connection of two identical solar panels.
Theses are the diodes that i use they are the same ones that are used when building the panels.
